I get the same issue with 8.5.3 on Windows 7 (our target platform and version).
Clean install, with no data. First user logs in and it gets stuck in a loop after they enter their credentials. The progress bar often loops and starts again. The message is "Loading... Please wait" (for how long IBM?)
Starting the "basic" client is not an option, we want the standard client.
If we kill all the processes, delete the ENTIRE data directory, we come back to the same point.
It would be nice of IBM to throw a few suggestions into this forum. The problem has been raised often enough.
